Dezeen Showroom: designers Francesco Meda and David Quincoces have expanded their Onsen outdoor furniture collection for Gandia Blasco, adding dining options and a sunlounger.

A dining table, dining chair and lounger are the new additions to the Onsen collection, which combines the Bauhaus aesthetic of tubular steel frames with a feeling of contemporary luxury through the use of ample cushioning and leather-like straps.

A dining table and chairs are among additions to the Onsen range

The straps have a texture resembling leather but are made of vinyl, so although the pieces are equally at home in a living or dining room, they are also durable enough to withstand the elements outdoors.

“Both the chosen materials and the elemental aesthetics of Onsen ensure its durability, transcending seasons and passing trends,” said Meda and Quincoces. “It is a collection designed to endure over time.”

The new Onsen dining table echos the linear patterning created by the collection’s straps with a slatted surface made of warm iroko wood – a material choice that is harmoniously echoed in the dining chair’s armrests.

The lounger continues the look of the Onsen lounge chairs and sofas, with generous cushioning and a border detail on the upholstery giving a refined yet inviting feel.
