Dezeen Showroom: US brand Designtex has created a hardwearing textile named Polychrome that is decorated with a colourful kaleidoscopic pattern.

In the Polychrome textile, Designtex aimed to create a material that is both visually stimulating while remaining durable and easy to clean.

Polychrome is characterised by its faceted, dynamic pattern

The fabric’s complex woven structure makes it suitable for cleaning using bleach, making it suited for application in high-traffic and public environments, such as workplace, healthcare and education spaces.

As well as its durability credentials, Polychrome is made out of 100 per cent post-consumer recycled polyester, making is a sustainable choice.

Designtex says the textile is hardy enough to be used in high-traffic interior spaces

A faceted, geometric pattern covers the material, which is available in seven colourways to suit a range of interior schemes.

“Polychrome’s bounty of colour and texture will bring joy and dynamism to any space – it can be a dash of vibrancy or blend in beautifully with other textures and materials,” said Designtex. “It’s a palette starter!”
