Read on to learn more about the latest judges to join this year’s panel:

Danish architect and designer Thulstrop runs eponymous practice Studio David Thulstrop and will join the interiors panel for Dezeen Awards 2025.
Thulstrop blends his Scandinavian heritage with contemporary elements to create timeless hospitality and residential projects.
Notable projects include London’s Ikoyi restaurant, TimeSpirit restaurant at The Macallan’s distillery in Scotland, refurbished California winery Donum Home, and a converted canal-side warehouse turned apartments in Copenhagen.
He also designs furniture and lighting, and recently crafted a silver holloware piece named Penumbra for Georg Jensen.

Japanese designer and artist Yoshioka, who recently exhibited an immersive ice installation during Milan design week, will join this year’s design panel.
Before establishing his studio in 2000, Yoshioka honed his skills in architecture, design and art, working alongside Shiro Kuramata, one of the most important designers of the 20th century and fashion innovator Issey Miyake.
Significant projects by Yoshioka include the Tokyo 2020 Olympic torch, a cloud-like installation with suspended acrylic rods in Houston, and a transparent glass tea house in Japan.
His work has been displayed in permanent collections at the Museum of Modern Art, the Musée National d’Art Moderne and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

New Zealand architect Heta is principal at architecture firm Jasmax and co-founder of Indigenous design collective Waka Māia. She will join Lebanese architect Lina Ghotmeh on this year’s architecture panel.
Heta champions Indigenous design, developing cultural projects authentic to the Māori, Samoan and Tokelaua communities. Recently, she spoke to Dezeen about how improving Indigenous representation among New Zealand’s built environment can pave the way for sustainability.
Her portfolio includes Auckland’s City Rail Link, New Zealand Pavilion at Expo 2020 and redevelopment of Western Springs College in Auckland. In 2024, Heta created an installation drawing on environmental themes for Ocean Space at the Venice Art Biennale.

Joining Yoshioka on the design panel will be Austrian designer Gallée, whose unconventional, collectable pieces fuse modern manufacturing processes with traditional craftsmanship.
Based in Rotterdam, Gallée founded his practice in 2017, specialising in one-off lighting and furniture designs using wood and resin as his primary mediums. The designer recently revealed a collection of giant resin lights that built upon a decade of his material research.
Gallée has collaborated with fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana and galleries Objects With Narratives in Brussels and Collectional in Dubai.
