Dezeen Showroom: designer Tom Fereday used hand-cast crystal glass and carved solid stone to craft this soft-edged, statuesque lamp for Australian brand Nau.

The Nola table lamp is made of crystal or white jade stone and has a simple form comprised of two seamlessly joined elements – a cylindrical base and a lightly domed top.

The Nola lamp has a serene presence

Turning on the lamp results in a soft, warm-toned mood light that glows through the translucent materials that make up each lamp.

“With a quiet glow and calming presence, the Nola Lamp is more than a light – it’s a moment of stillness,” said Nau.

One version is made from hand-cast crystal glass

“Whether placed on a side table or standing alone as a sculptural feature, it offers a sense of permanence and poetry in everyday life,” the brand continued.

The Nola lamp is available in two sizes. The crystal version reveals the internal structure within, adding another dimension to the lamp’s character.
