Dezeen Showroom: Japanese furniture brand Okamura has brought a friendly shape and attractive tactility to this versatile office chair, designed with modern workplaces in mind.

With a form inspired partly by a blooming flower, the Floris chair combines aspects of a task chair with a visual lightness that aims to bring character and sophistication to office environments.

The design has a gently curved shell, multi density cushioned seat and back pads that provide support and comfort for longer periods of sitting, while the choice of boucle or interlock fabrics creates a warm and textured contrast to the smooth frame.

“Designed to support both focused work and casual collaboration, Floris transforms shared spaces into environments of comfort and connection,” said Okamura.

“With its ergonomic support, refined styling and adaptability across layout types, Floris is Okamura’s answer to the needs of the contemporary workplace – where beauty, simplicity and functionality must exist in perfect balance,” continued the brand.

Floris is available with either a five-star swivel base, a four-leg steel base or a four-leg wood base in choice of finishes. The chair is available in four neutral colours and an array of fabrics.
