When the first official day of fall rolls around but it’s still 92 degrees outside, these adorable marshmallow ghosts in a chilled spiced apple cider are the perfect solution to satisfy your pumpkin spice cravings—without the heat! In this step-by-step recipe, you’ll learn how to create cute ghost faces using marshmallow fluff and markers for a fun Halloween twist that kids will LOVE. It’s a cool and festive alternative to the traditional PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte) and perfect for celebrating fall even in warmer weather!

You could pack the ingredients for these on a camping trip to enjoy as a fireside fall treat. For the pumpkin cookies sitting on the edge of the glass, I used Bentons cookie mug toppers from Aldi or you could make your own using my recipe for Christmas star cookies.

This fun marshmallow smeared ghost method can be applied to any cold drink, so let your imagination run wild! Whether you’re making an iced chai latte, chocolate milk, boba tea, smoothie, or cold brew coffee, you can easily add a festive Halloween twist with these cute ghost faces. Get creative and enjoy transforming your favorite chilled beverages into spooky, delicious treats!

Marshmallow Fluff Ghosts in Spiced Apple Cider

Spiced apple cider with ghost faces made from marshmallow fluff inside the cup are a fun and easy way to enjoy a Halloween drink with the kids even when it’s still warm outside!

    Prep Time 5 minutes minutes

    Ingredients

    • 2 tbsp marshmallow fluff
    • 16 oz storebought spiced apple cider
    • drizzle caramel sauce
    • 1 tsp cinnamon
    • 1 tsp white sugar
    • dollop whipped cream (optional)
    • fall-themed cookie mug toppers (optional)

    Instructions

    • Using the back of a spoon, smear a few dollops of marshmallow fluff inside your cup or glass. Feel free to add as many as you like—we suggest three for a fun touch.

    • On the outside of the glass, draw a cute ghost face on top of each marshmallow dollop using a dry-erase marker, which can be wiped off later. If you want it permanent, use a Sharpie.

    • On a flat plate, mix cinnamon and sugar. Make sure the plate is large enough for your glass rim to fully touch. On a separate plate, drizzle a small pool of caramel sauce.

    • Dip the rim of your glass in the caramel sauce first, then into the cinnamon sugar mixture for a tasty fall-flavored rim.

    • Fill the glass with ice (optional) and pour in spiced apple cider.

    • Drizzle more caramel or chocolate sauce along the inside of the glass

    • Top with whipped cream and finish with a fall-themed cookie mug topper.

    • Serve immediately and enjoy!
