Happy New Year, friends! As we kick off a fresh new year (can’t believe it’s 2025!), I thought it would be fun to take a look back at The Inspired Room readers’ favorite decor items from the 2024.
As the creator of The Inspired Room (for the past 18 years!) I love to help readers decorate their homes by sharing affordable, timeless and stylish decor pieces! I’m always so thrilled to get messages from people who bought and love something I recommended. I mostly share items I have in my own home, but also carefully select pieces I would feel comfortable buying, if I had a place for them!

Here are YOUR faves for 2024 (and mine, too!).
Rattan Serving Cart – We have this in our kitchen. Read my post about this cart and how I’ll use it here.
This jute and cotton rug – It’s a cotton jute so it is very soft, not scratchy. It’s so inviting, it’s like a knit sweater! We’ve had it for over a year with pups and it still looks great! The color and texture is wonderful, it reminds us of a sandy beach. It doesn’t shed, and comes in several colors. I shared a Q &A about the rug with a close up photo in this post. We also use THIS rug pad with it. It makes it even softer and helps keep it in place.
Brass Wall Sconces with Linen Shade (set of 2) – I have these in both black and brass. These are the wall lights I used without needing to hardwire! I used these rechargeable bulbs (see more details and photos here). I have since hardwired the lamp and added a fun new shade which you can see in this post.
Plaid Throw Blanket (above). I shared more plaid throws in this post.
Window Candles – These make us so happy on winter evenings! We absolutely love them, no other window candles compare. This brand has really neat features that make them special, so I definitely recommend them. I’ve bought them for members of our family, too! You can see more photos of them in our home here.

Hanging Lit Stars – We put these up on our porch every year, you can learn more about these stars and see more photos in my home in this blog post.
This little lamp with a scalloped shade is the perfect accent lamp and the woven shade makes it SO cozy! It comes in many colors and two sizes. I love it so much I’ve purchased it 3 times now for different spaces—I have both sizes of the white and the smaller size of the dark blue.
These buffalo check curtains (portabello color) were loved by TIR readers in 2024! See the cafe curtains I have around my home the hardware I use, and a round up of more cafe curtains in this post.
Leather Armchair – I have had the loveseat version for years and it has treated us so well! It only gets better with age.
My bamboo window shades – We installed these in our home last year, you can see a close up photo of these shades and more details in this blog post. Mine are the light russet color. I’ve received several messages from you getting them too! They sometimes appear to go out of stock but if you click to other sizes they’re often available!

Jute Wrapped Chandelier with Shades – This is in our dining room, you can see photos of it in our home here. You can get different shade options (so many patterns and colors) or use no shades!
This classic blue and white chinoiserie lamp is one of my favorite purchases last year and you all loved it too! I fell in love with the birds on it. It’s the little things.
These blue rocking chairs we got for our back porch.

Reversible Throw Blanket – These are popular with TIR readers every year and 2024 was no exception! Everyone who gets these LOVES them! They’re lightweight, machine washable, super soft, and come in several patterns and colors, you can see them here. I use them to cover bench seats, too. I have them in a few patterns and colors–the blue floral one in this folder is asked about often. See more details and photos of these blankets in my home in this post.

Blue and White Mug – this set of 3 was very popular in 2024 but was sadly out of stock for awhile and recently came back! They’re a great size and weight.
Botanical Rug – My new rug in my bedroom, it’s so charming! It sparks joy every day. I adore the colors and pattern with the botanicals and herons. You can see more photos of my bedroom and this rug in this post.
