Dezeen Showroom: designed to be both striking and practical, the Alu+ shower system by Ideal Standard features strong shapes and a low-sheen finish for a contemporary look.

The Alu+ system contains everything required for showering – both rain and handheld showerheads, mixer taps and shelves for storing soaps and shampoos – all within one continuous form.

The Alu+ is made from aluminium finished with a low-sheen effect

The system is designed to stand out, with its combination of robust rectangular shapes and slim circles, and a semi-matt finish in either rose gold, bronze, black or silver.

There are two different spray modes – standard Rain and luxurious SilkRain, the latter of which Ideal Standard describes as enveloping the body in ultra-fine droplets that form a “silky embrace”.

The Villeroy & Boch-owned brand also put sustainability considerations at the fore, crafting the system from aluminium, a relatively low-impact metal.

The system is made with 84 per cent recycled content, and for water efficiency, flow limiters on the hand spray and rain show restrict consumption to eight litres a minute and 12 litres a minute respectively, without impacting performance.
