“New Designers is an annual exhibition that brings together the best graduate design talent from across the UK.
“Our event is aimed at professionals in the design industry, as well as general consumers who are interested in seeing the latest trends in design.
“New Designers also welcomes hundreds of school students each year, inspiring the next generation of designers.
“Over two weeks, we showcase the work of over 2,500 talented graduates in a range of disciplines, including textiles, graphics, product design and more.”

“When creating their leather-draped corset, Rohan Scott engaged in bespoke leather workshops, offered as part of Birmingham City University’s fashion degree.
“During the workshop, Scott learned wet moulding techniques to sculpt leather to the body, which culminated in the creation of their leather-draped corset.
“The course’s workshop was supported by The Leathersellers company and Abbey England.”

“Ripley Gosling is an illustrator from Bristol, UK. Her work focuses on nature, the environment, history, culture and fantasy.
“At heart, Gosling is a storyteller, passionate about creating rich visual narratives, with work ranging across children’s books, editorials, artist’s books, character design and pattern design.
“Gosling loves using analogue materials to create her work, with an emphasis in watercolour paintings.
“They specialise in creating books with novelty elements and like to experiment with paper folding, cutting and mechanics to create unusual book designs.”

Reef: a visual response through batik and printmaking by Ganisha De Abrew
“Ganisha De Abrew is a British-Sri Lankan illustrator heavily influenced by childhood memories of Sri Lanka, with a focus on the environment and craft techniques like batik and printmaking.
“In this final project, De Abrew responded visually to a novel by Romesh Gunasekera using the above techniques.
“The project aims to offer a brief window into Sri Lankan culture in all its colour and vibrancy.”

The Ink Club by Emily Gentle
“The project centres on the transformation of the iconic Printworks building in London into an exclusive private members club named The Ink Club.
“Once the largest printing facility in Western Europe, and home to major newspapers such as The Evening Standard, the Daily Mail and the Metro, Printworks has since evolved into a world-renowned venue for culture, nightlife and hybrid events.
“Although currently closed and awaiting redevelopment, I have chosen to reimagine the space with a focus on preserving its industrial heritage.
“The proposed concept repurposes two floors of the building to create a luxurious and intimate club environment, incorporating a reception area, pool and bar, lounge and bar, bedroom suite and a hidden speakeasy bar to provide a unique and memorable experience.
“By blending the site’s rich historical identity with contemporary design, The Ink Club offers a new lease of life to the Printworks legacy, establishing it as a distinctive cultural and social destination in London.”

Wall Light by Alex Holden
“In a fusion of cutting-edge innovation and masterful craftsmanship, students from the Rycotewood BA (Hons) Furniture Design and Make programme recently partnered with global hardware pioneers Häfele to create a striking series of lighting-led furniture pieces.
“Alex Holden delivered a bold and ambitious wall-mounted centrepiece with a 900 millimetre solid ash frame encasing an intricately veneered panel.
“Behind it, a motorised stencil causes light to flicker through the surface, creating an entrancing kinetic display – more artwork than object.”

“Inspired by Song Dynasty rituals of offering incense to the moon, Luna Aerator reimagines this cultural tradition as a home incense holder.
