London architecture studio Nikjoo used deep red brick to create Lode, a three-bedroom townhouse in east London.
Readers discussed the home, with one calling it a “beautifully crafted house on a limited site”, while another described it as “a great infill project let down by the kitchen”.

Other stories in this week’s newsletter that fired up the comments section included videos of a flying car, the completion of a 25-kilometre-long sewer to protect the River Thames and a 63-storey skyscraper set to be built to Passive House standards in Brooklyn.
