Dezeen Showroom: acoustic solutions brand Autex Acoustics has published a selection of its sound-dampening products and fittings on Dezeen Showroom.

Base and surface colourways can be mixed and matched in Autex Acoustics’ Groove Duet panels, which serve both decorative and sound-dampening purposes.

The Groove Duet panels feature intricate patterns made using precision router cutting

Where the velour-finish surface layer is etched, the base compressed polyester felt layer is revealed. Selecting different colours for each of the layers creates a dimensional two-tone effect.

The panels’ optional peel-and-stick backing makes then straightforward to install, and the base layer contains a minimum of 60 per cent recycled content.

Lanes acoustic system by Autex Acoustics
The brand’s Lanes acoustic system is modular

The Lanes acoustic system comes in three styles – dimensional Peak and more understated, flattened Plane and Sawtooth.

Components are modular and are made from a minimum of 60 per cent recycled content, while a built-in air pocket behind each ensures that excess sound is controlled.

Cube aims to control noise while creating a warm focal point

The brand’s Cube acoustic panels can be used to cover entire walls in one uniform colour, or used more playfully to create pixel-like compositions with multiple colours.

Their compressed felt materiality gives them a gently speckled surface appearance that recalls the look of wool-based fabrics.

Grid ceiling tiles by Autex Acoustics
Grid ceiling tiles were created to be mounted over the top of dropped ceilings

Autex Acoustics’ Grid ceiling tiles are designed to obscure the lacklustre dropped ceiling tiles found in workplaces and mixed-use spaces.

Users have the choice of seven different styles and multiple colourways, which help to create visually interesting ceilings while controlling excess noise.

Expressive, painterly strokes characterise this series of acoustic-dampening wall coverings that the brand released in collaboration with artist.

Acoustic textiles come in four distinctive patterns – all of which were informed by New Zealand’s natural environment – and share decorative as well as sound-dampening functionalities.

Autex Acoustics was established in 1967 and specialises in the design and manufacturing of products that help to control noise levels in busy interior spaces.

Its catalogue includes wall-mounted and ceiling-hung panels that take a variety of forms, from wallcoverings and standalone sound-dampening artworks to baffles and full-coverage wall systems.
