Frame House, Portugal, by Pedro Domingos Arquitectos
Board-marked concrete was used to construct this four-bedroom brutalist home in Portugal, which was designed by local practice Pedro Domingos Arquitectos.
Looking to create a home that would “seamlessly integrate with nature”, the studio integrated large openings that frame the surrounding landscape, along with terraces and a rooftop pool.

Hidden Villa, the Netherlands, by i29
Dutch architecture studio i29 used a combination of oil-treated ash cladding and light-toned bricks to clad the exterior of the Hidden Villa home in the south of the Netherlands.
Designed to have a strong connection to the outdoors, i29 centred the home around a swimming pool and a double-height courtyard filled with trees and plants.

Bomun House, South Korea, by Atelier Itch
A shiny corrugated steel facade wraps around the windowless street facade of Bomun House in Seoul designed by South Korean studio Atelier Itch.
Situated on a tight residential street, the home juxtaposes its neighbouring red-brick houses with its metal facade that was chosen to “refine the building’s exterior”.

Cairnconon Byre, Scotland, by Loader Monteith
Architecture studio Loader Monteith replaced a dilapidated farm building with the Cairnconon Byre home, which is topped with a red corrugated-metal roof.
Situated on arable farmland in Angus, Scotland, the home comprises two single-storey volumes finished with stone and black-painted pine, and topped with steep pitched roofs.

Green Hills Residence, US, by Price Harrison
The Green Hills Residence in Tennessee was designed by architect Price Harrison to serve as a backdrop for the display of artwork around the home’s interior spaces.
Designed by Harrison for himself and his wife, the L-shaped home is finished with concrete stucco and features and open-air courtyard and expansive garden.
