Dezeen Showroom: durability meets a soft, handmade-style aesthetic in the Fresco textile, created by US brand Designtex for busy environments.

Fresco is a coated upholstery textile made from 100 per cent polyurethane that is printed with a gentle tonal pattern resembling brushstrokes.

The painterly, expressive finish fosters feelings of comfort and tranquility, making it suitable for locations such as spa retreats and wellness centres.

Available in 18 muted colours, Fresco is also designed for durability, with a Wyzenbeek rating of 300,000 double rubs and a surface that is ink- and denim dye-resistant.

“The applied result of Fresco result is harmonious, seamlessly blending artful imperfection with enduring performance to create environments that are elevated and inviting,” said Designtex executive design director Sara Balderi.

Fresco is low-VOC and has no antimicrobials, flame retardants or PFAS. It is Greenguard Gold, HPD and LEED certified.
