Dezeen Showroom: the rich textures of hand-crafted materials are replicated in this wall covering created by US brand Designtex for environments that require easy maintenance.

The appearance of the Plaster wall covering is similar to an optical illusion, replicating a look that is similar to hand-trowelled plaster but also bark or cork.

The Plaster wall covering is intended to look similar to hand-trowelled plaster

The pattern is digitally printed on Designtex‘s non-vinyl substrate – made from 50 per cent cellulose, 40 per cent latex and 10 per cent polyester – and available in nine colours.wall

The company advises that the wall covering has a smooth surface that is easy to clean, and that it provides an affordable and practical alternative where real natural materials are not suitable.

“Plaster brings warmth, depth and tactile allure to hospitality, wellness and ancillary spaces,” said Designtex.

“Rooted in biophilic design principles, it evokes a sense of human presence by emulating the irregular beauty of hand-crafted materials to foster connection, calm and comfort within the built environment.”
