Dezeen Showroom: locally sourced English oak was used by Yorkshire-based design brand Koda for its height-adjustable desk, designed in-house by managing director Jamie Hoyle and creative director Katherine Mathew.

Despite its time-honoured oaken materiality, Hoyle and Mathew departed from tradition by employing straight lines and modern, geometric forms for the Raze Sit-Stand Desk.

The height of the desk’s surface can be raised and lowered by a slimline touch screen mounted beneath the edge of the tabletop, and capacious drawers facilitate ample storage.

“Raze seamlessly integrates technology with elevated craftsmanship,” said Koda. “With its smooth adjustability and ergonomic proportions, the desk promotes movement and better circulation – supporting a healthier, more dynamic way of working.”

The desk’s top can be adjusted between 720 and 1220 millimetres high

“Our goal is to blur the lines between furniture, interior design, and architecture,” said Hoyle. “This desk embodies that vision – elevating everyday furniture through thoughtful design.”

The base and storage components come in a steel blue lacquer as standard, while the desk top is available in a natural oak finish that decorated by the organic grain of the wood. Bespoke colourways are available upon request.
